Leroy Albert Howatt ("Bud"), age 93, passed away in St. Charles, IL on November 14, 2025.

Bud was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Howatt, father of the late Michael Howatt, Donald Howatt (Christine), and Lori Hubbard; grandfather of Kimmi Dienhart, Riley Hubbard, Ramsey Hubbard (Kiana), Tracy Reichter, Kelly Howatt and Paul Howatt; great grandfather of Paisley Hubbard and Niyla, Quinn and Jackson Reichter; brother of the late Carol Presbitero (Jerry) and the late Robert Howatt (Lynette); uncle to many nieces and nephews; loving companion to Jeanette Jackson, and many friends at Brighton Gardens.

Bud was a fireman for years starting at age 16, was a safety director in the trucking industry for 40 years, and worked at the St Charles EMA for 15 years. He was with the Army 109th combat engineers in Manheim, Germany from 1952-1954. A long time member of St. John Neumann Church, Bud was active with the Silver Foxes and Knights of Columbus. He was a Cub fan, a little league umpire, and an avid player of dominoes, cards and bingo. As a young boy he played the piano accordion for the Chicago USO with his cousin and sister.

Bud was a good man and a loyal friend – he will be missed. A memorial service is planned for January 2026 (TBD). For further information call Yurs Funeral Home 630-584-0060

Bud was such an awesome individual, giving of himself at church and everywhere in life. Always smiling and helping others become better people. Whether hosting a bible study group with his wife, Dorothy, or assisting others in serving the community wherever he could. We thank God for his presence in our lives.
