Leroy S. McLaughlin

Leroy S. McLaughlin, age 88, of Rogers, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on November 27, 1936, in West Point, OH, a son of the late Lawrence and Viola Cusick McLaughlin.

Leroy retired from International Mill Service in Midland PA after 27 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. As a life-long member of the Church of the Nazarene, East Palestine, he was able to serve the congregation as a long-term board member and trustee, maintenance man, bus driver, and Sunday school teacher. He was known for being a peacekeeping, kind family man with a strong work ethic. Leroy was generous with his time and talents and always willing to lend a helping hand. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring antique tractors, especially John Deere, camping with his family, and bowling. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his beloved grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Leroy is survived by his wife, the former, Joyce Ann Greenwood, whom he married on July 10, 1959; his daughter, Lori (Curt) Small of Williston, ND; two sons, Jay (Teresa) McLaughlin and Kenneth (Kathy) McLaughlin all of Rogers; siblings, Leonard McLaughlin of Leesburg, VA, Rella Anderson of Salem and Fred (Pat) McLaughlin of Salem; three sisters-in-law, Janet McLaughlin and Mary McLaughlin both of Salem, and Judy Brown of Columbiana and by a brother-in-law, Joe Greenwood of Canfield. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Heather Baker, Julie (John) Sorce, Rachel (Andrew) Wallace, Justin McLaughlin, Blake (Hayley) McLaughlin, Trevore (Marissa) McLaughlin, Hannah (Joshua) Tucker, Abigail McLaughlin, Leah McLaughlin, Josiah McLaughlin, Malachi McLaughlin, and Zachariah McLaughlin and seven great grandchildren, Everly, Skylar, Hayes, Ellie, Amaya, Blakely, and Silas.

Leroy was preceded in death by siblings: James H. McLaughlin, Sr., Ruth Smith, Ron McLaughlin, Larry McLaughlin, and Arnie McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Services will be held on Tuesday, at 7:00 pm, at the funeral home with Pastor Pam Price officiating.

Leroy will be laid to rest at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
