Leroy “Bud” Albert Price, 75, of Gaffney, SC, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Bud was born in McDowell County, NC on April 15, 1948, to the late Clarence Albert Price and Hazel Jean Ellington Price. He was married to his wife of 55 years, Rita Dills Price. Bud retired from Duke Energy following more than 50 years of dedicated service. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed playing chess and working in his woodshop. He enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Duke basketball. Bud was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was adored by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Price; two children, Jennifer Price Bishop (Chad) and Kevin Oliver Price; two sisters, Rena Mae Parker and Ann Wheeler; a brother, Jerry Price (Carolyn); two grandchildren, Nicholas Albert Bishop and Noah Charles Bishop; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion. Reverend Brian Wilson will officiate; and Reverends Steven Kidd and Randy Stevens will assist. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Baptist Church Cemetery in Nebo. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
