LeRoy Wright Sr.

Mr. LeRoy Wright, Sr., 93, of Millry, AL passed from this life Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom, AL. He was born in Munford, AL on Thursday, October 25, 1928 to the late William Julius Wright and Maddie Lee (Moore) Wright. He worked on a road construction crew which is how he found his wife of 58 years Virginia Stewart Wright. He became a welder shortly after they married working in that field until he retired at the age of 62. Then he became a poultry farmer and worked until the age of 85. Mr. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, William Julius and Maddie Lee (Moore) Wright; three brothers, James Julius Wright, Joe Wright, William D. Wright; seven sisters, Gladys Edwards, Clara B. Wright, Dorothy M. Wright, Ellen Wilcox, Judy Wyatt, Lavenia Bowman, Frances Piazza; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia Elizabeth (Stewart) Wright; two sons, Lee Roy Wright, Jr. (Kristi), James Julius Wright; daughter, Leida Wright Robertson (William) all of Millry, AL; sister, Jean Burkhart of Lexington, KY; five grandsons, Tyler Wright (Kelsey) of Millry, AL, Ethan Wright (Harley) of Waynesboro, MS, William D. Robertson, John Robertson, Connor Wright all of Millry, AL; two granddaughters, Savannah Wright of Waynesboro, MS, Kaylee Wright of Millry, AL; two great granddaughters, Raelyn Wright, Rylee Wright both of Millry, AL; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. LeRoy will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 7, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jim Koen officiating. Interment will be in Stewart Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Copeland, AL.
