Lesley Wayne Malugin, age 81, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Franklin Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, December 6th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 2, 1944, in Hickman County, Tennessee, Lesley was the son of the late David Crockett Malugin and the late Maude McCandless Malugin. He married the love of his life, Ruby Jean Malugin, who preceded him in death in 2020.
Lesley had a deep appreciation for working with and raising mules, and he was a talented man who could do just about anything. Over the course of his life, he built at least twelve homes, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, and determination.
He is survived by his son, Stacey Malugin of Santa Fe; brother, Thomas (Helen) Malugin of Dog Creek; brother in law, James Wesley Roberts; nephews, James Roberts, Harold (Karen) Malugin, Billy (Donna) Malugin, Jason Malugin, Randy Roberts, David Rochelle, Timmy (Bethany) Malugin, and Tony (Sandra) Malugin; and nieces, Carolyn Potts, Wanda Garland, Brenda Odom, Lori White, Bethany Malugin.
In addition to his wife Ruby, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Leonard, Paul, Boyd, and Thomas Malugin; and his sisters, Clara Mae Slaughter, Viola McCord, Willine Roberts, and Cora Lee Beard.
Pallbearers will be Jason Malugin, Case Malugin, Timmy White, David White, Zachary Potts, Ed Smith, Morris McNeese, and Bruce Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be all his nephews and Ben Malugin, Shawn Malugin, Benton White, Andrew White, Freddy Slaughter, Sam Slaughter, and Justin Odom.
