Leslie Walter Bishop, a devoted husband and father, known for his loving and caring nature, went home with The Lord on June 22, 2024, in Gallatin, TN. He was born on October 21, 1955, in Evergreen Park, IL to parents Walter Bishop and Dolores Meister. Les was a man of many passions and joys in life. Fondly remembered by his family for his unwavering love and presence, Les will forever be celebrated and remembered for the cherished moments spent together.

As children, he and his brother found joy in camping and fishing adventures. As a young adult, he found excitement in building cars and drag racing, a passion that brought immense joy to his heart. His desire to start a family, be a loving husband and father was among his proudest accomplishments. His wife lovingly referred to him as "my handsome," a testament to the deep connection they shared. His children remember what a great father he was, always there to protect and guide them, always sharing advice. Les was a skilled handyman who passed his knowledge of repairing cars, fixing appliances, and building improvements around the house to his children who were always eager to learn from him. These moments learning from their Dad will always be treasured in their hearts.

The family remembers him passing down secret family recipes. Making homemade pizza on the weekends, perogies on Christmas, and even his special trick to “spice up” sauerkraut in his Rubens will be treasured by those who knew him. A man of creativity and spirit, Les even graced the stage in his acting debut as Joseph in the church's Nativity Story. His love for movies created memorable outings with his sons as they eagerly anticipated each new Marvel film to come out. He enjoyed music, listening to 60’s yacht rock tunes and selections by Hall and Oates as he worked in the garage.

Leslie Walter Bishop is preceded in death by his father Walter Bishop, mother Dolores Meister, and infant son David Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Lynda Bishop, daughter Elizabeth (Nicholas) Pershey, daughter Sarah Bishop, daughter Hannah Bishop, son Samuel Bishop, daughter Rebecca Bishop, and son Joshua Bishop.
