Leslie Button Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Valley Funeral Home, Matsu Valley on Jan. 24, 2026.
Leslie "Les" J Button, 72, a cherished grandfather, uncle, father, and

brother, was taken from us on January 13th, 2026 at Primrose Retirement

Community Home in Wasilla, Alaska.

Born in Paducah, Kentucky on July 30th, 1953, Les's life was one of

whimsy journeys and hardships. Although being called ornery many times

in his life, was always there for others when they needed him. He was a

very great listener and always offered his advice to anyone.

Throughout his life, Les worked in the road construction industry. Anyone

who worked with him, or knew Les would agree that he took great

stewardship at his work. He worked for Jolt Construction for many years

until a hip injury took him into retirement.

Les is preceded in death by his father, Calvin J Button, his mother Marjorie

Leona Button, and his sister Sherryl Kuban. He is survived by his daughter,

Angie Button and her son Chrystian of Mesa, Arizona. Also his brother

Robert Mark Button, his two nieces, Sherryl Button and Brandie Button, all

of Big Lake, Alaska.

Les had many hobbies in his life, one particular favorite being cribbage. He

often said would be playing cribbage with his mother and father, while

drinking a cold Coors Light.

A quote from his brother, Robert Mark Button, "We will miss you Les, my

best friend and brother, but we will be forever grateful we knew you! Rest in

peace, my brother."

We would also like to thank Les's nurses and all supporting staff who were

always checking in on him and taking care of him during his time at

Primrose Retirement Community Home, you have our extended gratitude

and we appreciate you very much.
