Leslie Kent, Jr. Obituary

Published by Seale Funeral Service - Denham Springs on Sep. 25, 2015.
Leslie Boyd Kent Jr, born August 9, 1939 to Anne and Leslie Kent, Sr, is survived by his mother, age 99, his sister, JoAnne and her daughter Mary Ann, mother of his nieces, Julia and Anna, his children, Boyd, Ashley, Chassidy, Caleb and David, and his wife, Jane, along with her children Jett, Mike, Kristi, Belle, Sarah, Ashley and 14 grandchildren. He will be welcomed by many who have gone before him, particularly his father and son Clay. He has left the homes whose landscapes he designed beautiful and touched with his gift of creating what his clients desired for their outdoor environment, enhanced by his years of practice as a landscape architect. After graduating from LSU, he worked his entire career in harmony with nature and the beauty of the outdoors, from small patios to elegant St Francisville historic homes. The passion he felt for his art was only surpassed by his love and the nurturing of his children and family. And that family included his priest and members of Church of the Nativity in Rosedale, horses, goats, chickens and many cats and dogs. Besides being survived by family, there are many unofficial family members who count themselves in the number loved by this kind and generous man who opened his home and heart to numerous people of all ages and circumstances. For fear of forgetting one of them, and some are yet unknown, his unofficial but true family members won't be named, but they know and he knows who they are. He will be missed, celebrated and carried on the wings of indescribable love and gratitude by all. And, a special thanks goes from his family to the loving, compassionate, skilled staff, from kitchen to doctors, of the BR General Bluebonnet Cancer Unit made possible by the generosity of the Pennington Family. Visitation at 10:00 am and Memorial Service at 11:00 am, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Church of the Nativity, Rosedale, Louisiana.
