Leslie L. "Les" Mingos, 90, of Sayre formerly of Ulster, PA passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Sayre Health Care Facility following an extended illness.

He was born on February 22, 1935, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late James and Viola Mae (Wandell) Mingos.

Leslie was an Army Veteran. He retired from the IR and Wheeler Tool Company as a Machinist. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Leslie enjoyed going for rides to check on the wildlife, camping, and golfing. He also enjoyed volleyball, bowling, woodworking, snowmobiling, and motorcycle riding .

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ruth Mingos, two brothers and three sisters.

Leslie is survived by his children, Gail (Paul) Sachenik, Terri (John) Jordan, Donald (Betty) Mingos, and Vicki (Paul) Haiges, grandchildren, Ashley (Anthony) Baumgardner, Amanda (Nik) Tessitore, Christopher Sachenik, Derek (Melanie) Jordan, Jared (Heather) Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Nicole Mingos, Tasha Mingos, Jessica Haiges and Chelsea Haiges, great-grandchildren, Kira, Cecelia, Easton, Levi, Kyley, Elijah, Asher, Kinsley, Marley, Cole, Liam, Rylan, Hadley, and Juniper. He is also survived by his sisters, Ellen Maryott, Betty (Gary) Ferguson, Julia Palmer, brother, Frank (Jan Wilsey) Mingos, sisters, Hila Grinnell and Peggy Wheeler, brother-in-law, Kenneth (Diana) Curtis, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Time of Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 11am-1pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Leslie's name to the Mather Memorial Library, 23866 Route 220, Ulster, PA 18850.
