Leslie Hornung Perilloux, 84, a longtime resident of Luling, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on September 15, 2025.
Leslie was preceded in death by her husband Bruce of 64 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Bruce Joseph Perilloux, and her parents, Jacob Samuel Hornung and Ione Boze Hornung, and her brother, Jacob Stanley Hornung (the late Frances Hornung).
Born on March 4, 1941 Leslie was a native of
New Orleans, Louisiana, and a long-time resident of Luling, Louisiana. She is survived by her four children: Deborah Perilloux Medina (the late Larry Medina), Sharon Perilloux Perret (David), Richard Joseph Perilloux (fiancée Terry Padgett), and Anne Perilloux Nettle (the late Darrel Nettle).
She was a devoted grandmother to Robert Michael Medina (fiancée Mary Mothe), Brandon James Medina (Danielle), Mark Andrew Medina (Sunny), Michael Joseph Medina (Kellie), Stacie Carubba Olschner (Phillip), Robin Michelle Carubba, Amber Rene Perilloux Colwart (Phillip Foret), Richard Joseph Perilloux, Jr. (Tessa), and Chloe Joli Perilloux.Leslie was also a proud great-grandmother of Lexi Medina, Robert Medina, Jr., Jacob Medina, Genevieve Medina, Arabella Medina, Jovi Medina, Reese Olschner, Davis Olschner, and Parker Colwart. Additionally, she was a loving step-grandmother to Emma Foret, Lane Foret, Liam Jones, and Grayson Jones. She leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Leslie attended St. James Major Elementary School and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy High School in New Orleans and was a parishioner at Holy Family Church in Luling. While being a full-time mother, Leslie owned and managed St. Charles Garden Center and helped with operations at Grumpy's Family Restaurant. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, listening to country music, dancing, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, and traveling to the Gulf Coast and on road trips. She enjoyed plantations and Louisiana history. However, her greatest joy in life was her family-especially the deep bond she shared with her husband, whom she first met at the age of 15.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 234 Angus Drive, Luling, LA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a private interment at Green-Wood Cemetery in New Orleans.
