Sherilyn Richards Perilloux

Sherilyn Richards Perilloux passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 30, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on March 26, 1946, in Wharton, Texas to the late Joe E. Richards and Patsy Claybourn Richards.
Sherilyn married her high school sweetheart Thomas Charles Perilloux (Tom) on December 22, 1967, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in El Campo, Texas, after completing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Southwest Texas State College.
Tom and Sherilyn began their life together in Lake Jackson, Texas, where they had two children Tom Jr. and Tia. As Tom's career took off, Sherilyn ensured the family adjusted to the various new places they lived. They were fortunate enough to live in wonderful locations including Magnolia, Arkansas, Ludington, Michigan, as well as, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lake Conroe, Texas. Eventually, in 1996 they found their way back home to El Campo, Texas, and purchased the family business, Sunshine Laundry & Dry Cleaners.
Sherilyn was full of love and life. She was the epitome of joy. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking local cuisine for family and guests. She loved traveling and orchestrating gatherings for family, friends, and the community. She cherished spending time with her daughter in the Carolinas and watching her grandsons play sports and excel in school. Sherilyn loved playing variety of games with different clubs, hanging out with her besties and spending time at the family bay house in Palacios, Texas. Her radiant smile and energy ensured the happiness of everyone she came in contact with. She always brought a fun and uplifting energy into a room and always had everyone's best interest at heart.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Perilloux (Tom) of El Campo, Texas; her children Thomas Perilloux Jr. (Missy) of El Campo, Texas, and Tia Perilloux Thompson (Jason) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and her pride and joy, grandsons Colin and Charlie Thompson. She is also survived by her brother Joe H. Richards (Veronica), Niece Patricia Portella-Wright, and her daughter, Celeste Portella, and Nephew Chad Richards (Kim) and their sons, Lucas and Landon.
Her family is holding a Celebration of Life at the First Baptist Church in El Campo, Texas, on July 13, 2024 at 11am with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
