Leslie Sargent Obituary

Leslie Joann Sargent, born on December 16, 1958, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, entered eternal rest on March 1, 2024. Leslie, the daughter of Denton and Marie (Sporrer) Wunder, spent her formative years attending elementary school in Sutherland before transferring to Storm Lake for the remainder of her educational journey. She earned her GED in 1978.
On November 8, 1975, Leslie was united in marriage to Donald Sargent at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Leslie's dedication extended beyond her family life to her professional endeavors, as she contributed 9.5 years at K Products and 17 years at Wunder Upholstery.
Leslie attended First Lutheran Church in Milford, Iowa, where her faith flourished. She found joy in various passions, including her love for horses, cultivating beautiful gardens, and enjoying her love of music. However, her greatest joy was found in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
Left to cherish Leslie's memory are her beloved children, Jason (Kaira) Sargent of Milford, Iowa, and Candice Olson (Tyson Thoreson) of Correctionville, Iowa. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shayla Powell, Britney Sargent, Brody Sargent (Emma Bonnstetter), Noah Sargent, Brook Sargent, Riley (Tyler) Petty, Case Olson, and Echo Thoreson. The laughter and love she shared also extend to her great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Lilian Kirchner, Brida Howe, and Alice Droegmiller.
Leslie is survived by her siblings: Terri (Chuck) Burleson of Atlanta, Georgia; Denny (Lori) Wunder of Milford, Iowa; Chris (Kristine) Wunder of Everly, Iowa, along with extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Denton and Marie Wunder; her husband, Donald Sargent; and her grandson, Blaine Olson. Leslie also leaves behind cherished memories and is remembered fondly by multiple cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
