Leslie Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lemley Chapel on Jan. 20, 2026.
An Epitaph for Les

What's the significance of the "dash" on a tombstone? It's the small line between the date of birth & the date of death. It is the most significant symbol because this "dash" represents all of the events that occurred within that person's life. The "dash" on the headstone tells our story. It relates to those who see it that we were here and we mattered!

Leslie Wayne Williams was the eighth child of ten born to Russell and Clarabelle Williams. He had four sisters and five brothers. He was a healthy, active child with exceptional good looks and personality.

He was 16 when he married the love of his life, 15-year-old Susie Riggs. Les worked hard to support his sweet bride as they started their family. They were blessed with two sons, Les Jr. and Curtis Eugene and one daughter, Lisa Ann.

Les worked hard to support his beloved family. He worked at feed stores, dairy farms and driving a logging truck. Susie worked with special ed. kids in their school district. There were lean times and times of plenty. But one thing that never wavered was the love and devotion to each other and their family. They were blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Jay and daughter-in-law, Wendy. They have five amazing grandchildren, Wyatt and Madelynne, Tori, Michael and Katie; our dearest friend, Jeanne Kay & adoptive son, Craig Cole.

Les loved family get-togethers and playing Santa; he loved coaching baseball, camping, fishing, golfing, playing games and western movies, starring Audie Murphy or John Wayne. (He also loved dancing the Tarheel Stomp and demonstrating his martial arts.)

Les had many friends and touched many lives. This is only a sampling of a life well lived by a man that mattered.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third Street, Sedro-Woolley, WA. A reception will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. His final resting place is Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley.

Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus. Share your memories of Les and sign the online guest register.
