He was born on June 25, 1939, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, to James and Theodocius Grissom Williams. He married Carol Clark on February 20, 1960, in Peoria.
Surviving family members include his wife from Washington, along with three children: Brian (Donna) Williams of Washington, Beverly (Mark) Obery of Metamora, Illinois, and Blair Williams of Washington. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His parents, five sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death.
He loved all sports and was a lifelong San Francisco Giants baseball fan. He treasured time with his grandchildren and enjoyed listening to gospel music, singing, fishing and sharing meals with friends and family. Additionally, he was a devoted member of Calvary Community Church for many years, actively taking part in various church activities.
A funeral service for Les is set for 11 am on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
