Leslie Eugene Withrow
Leslie Eugene Withrow, known by most as Les or LEW, age 67, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 30th, 2025, in his home surrounded by family and friends. His bright smile and warm conversations are going to be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
His life began on July 26th, 1957, in the Midwest town – Rockford, Illinois – and as the first-born child of Bert and Veda Withrow. As a young man, LEW was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 1975, during which he enjoyed team sports and was #55 on the football team. At the young age of 24, he decided to take a leap of faith and loaded up his Oldsmobile Toronado which had no reverse and with three hundred dollars in his pocket, moved west settling in Tucson, Arizona.
As a skilled construction tradesman, he later applied his knowledge of the industry and moved into a sales position at Naughton's and later with AZ Partsmaster. Anyone who knew LEW's dedication as a salesman, would also know that his accomplishments were attributed to his ability to create lasting relationships. Beyond his career, he enjoyed weightlifting, firearm tactical training, motorcycle maneuver drills, and trips on his Harley-Davidson with his beautiful wife, Carmen.
At Redeemed Life Bible Church, Les always enjoyed volunteering and spending his time as an usher, security, and treasurer. Beyond these roles, he opened his heart to others and found himself giving and receiving so much love and inspiration. The gospel and prayer uplifted his mind and spirit as he found his path to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
LEW is survived by his wife, Carmen Calvillo Withrow; sister, Paula Gregory (Eric) Shelman; brother, Bill (Lynda) Withrow; niece and nephews, Jamie Withrow, Zackery (Katelyn) Withrow, Shane Gregory; stepsons, Domingo Martinez III, Michael (Jamie) Martinez and Jorge Calvillo; granddaughters, Leilanie Martinez and Charlotte Martinez, whom he called "little britches"; and his four-legged best friend, Harley, who was always by his side.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Marana Mortuary, 12146 W. Barnett Rd, Marana, AZ 85653. Friends may visit from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Les will be laid to rest at Marana Cemetery.
