Leta M. Williams, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, August 18, 2025, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis and formerly lived in Franklin.

Leta was born on February 17, 1952, in Franklin, to the late Warren Hargus and Loretta (Holley) Williams. She worked as a cosmetologist for over 50 years, most recently at Peace Love & Hair in Franklin. Leta was devoted to her family and cherished the many relationships she built through her years of doing hair.

She will be remembered for her excellent cooking-especially her cupcakes and her famous cheese dip. Leta was a fan of Indiana University Men's Basketball and enjoyed working the daily Wordle puzzle. Above all, she loved caring for her grand-pups: Nukem, Ruthie, and Baxter.

In addition to her parents, Leta was preceded in death by her siblings: Pauline Dalton, Mary June Ramey, Jimmy Williams, Lola Faye Young, Earl Chester Williams and John Allen Williams.

Survivors include her daughter, Laurel (Sean) Litchford of Indianapolis; her brother, Dave (Money) Williams of Lovington, IL; sister-in-law, Mary Williams of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Pastor Lukas Haworth will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nineveh Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Leta's memory to Girls Inc. of Johnson County, 200 E. Madison St., Franklin, IN 46131.
