With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Letha Rae Mahan, a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend. Letha was born April 14, 1944 in Hot Springs, AR and passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 at the age of 81. She was known for her quick wit and friendly demeanor.
Letha is survived by her loving children, Kimberly Ezell of Conway, AR, and Rodney and Dana Baker of Atkins, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mahan, her parents, Van and Etha Cary, daughter, Donita Lynn Baker, and her sister, Rebecca Lynn LeMay.
Letha’s legacy continues through her cherished extended family: Michael (Eric) & Sherena Ezell of Cabot, AR; Blake & Jessica Ezell of Greenbrier, AR; Stephanie & Blake Eremea of Greenbrier, AR; Kathleen & Michael Beasley of Atkins, AR; Kortlind & Jared Johnson of Atkins, AR; Kimberly & Raymond Khan of Kilgore, TX; Andrew & Alyssa Williamson of Kilgore, TX; Kaden Baker and Kamran Baker, both of Atkins, AR; and Kassy & Hunter Woodcock of North Carolina. Letha was deeply loved by her friends and caregivers at Superior Health & Rehab in Conway, AR. In 2023, she was honored as State Queen by the Arkansas Healthcare Association - an acknowledgment of her joyful spirit and inspirational presence.
Letha touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her love and light will continue to live on in their hearts. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, living her “happily ever after.” A private celebration of life will be held for the family.
