Letitia “Tish” Sitek (nee Boyce)
October 13, 1958 - March 24, 2024
Letitia “Tish” Sitek, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her home in Philadelphia on March 24, 2024.
Tish is survived by her daughter Marissa Odom and her wife Sarah, Patrick Sitek and his wife Stephanie, her brother Raymond Boyce Jr. and his wife Antoinette, and her dear friend and long-time caretaker Jim LaBombard. She is preceded in death by her father Raymond Boyce Sr., her mother Eva Boyce (nee Schaffer), and husband Robert Sitek. Letitia began her education at Sacred Heart School and attended Archbishop Prendergast High School (better know as Prendie). She made many friends through her school years and relished reconnecting with them through social media and at reunions. Tish met Robert while working at Newbolds, where they made many friends and had great times. Rob and Tish married in the spring of 1980 in her home parrish of Blessed Virgin Mary. Tish loved Rob’s son, Patrick, as her own, and the couple were blessed the following year with their daughter, Marissa. Once Marissa started school, Tish started getting involved with teaching at St. Anne School, where she taught in the reading computer lab until Marissa graduated. She loved working at school and was instrumental in advancing the school’s library into the age of computer technology. Tish decided it was time to return to the banking world and began working for BHC Securities (now Fiserv), where she was hired as a margin clerk. Tish easily made friends with coworkers at home and across the US. As Rob’s health declined due to his exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam war, Tish made the decision to become his full time caregiver until his death. Tish always loved gardening, gallivanting around the country, trips to the beach, and long drives for nothing more than a good cup of coffee. She was never one to sit still. One of her favorite hobbies during her early retirement was participating with the American Jukebox Society with her dear friend Jim. They traveled to many car shows and events raising money to raffle jukeboxes and enjoying records of all musical genres. Letitia learned her spirit of “I can fix it,” from her father, Ray. She would never turn anyone away if they needed help, something fixed, or an event planned. Tish was the caregiver for so many friends, family, and neighbors during her life — it was always in her nature to give rather than receive. Her faith always played an extremely important part of her life. Tish will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who met her through her various jobs and stages of life.
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to join us in commemorating her life on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 10 AM to 12 noon at Slabinski Sucharski Funeral Home located at 2614 Orthodox Street. A memorial service will commence at 12 noon.
Letitia will be privately laid to rest alongside her husband at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Thursday.
