Letty Marie (Hannah) Calvetti, 88, of Indiana, passed away on June 14, 2024. Born in Reynoldsville, PA, on September 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Mabel V. (Friedline-Smith) Hannah.
Letty graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1953 and then from Indiana Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She continued her education at IUP receiving her Bachelor of Nursing Degree and then her master's in Counseling Education.
Letty spent her life loving and aiding children. She was a guidance counselor as well as a school nurse for her entire career. In her free time, Letty volunteered in her church, St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church. Most significantly, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA), holding local, state and national office. At the national level she was elected as second vice-regent.
In addition to her parents, Letty was preceded in death by her husband Louis Calvetti as well as siblings Laura Heemer, Jess Hannah, Francis "Joe" Hannah, Ann Lucas, Maxine Johnson, Orpha Kearney, Goldie Tokarcik, Helen Smith, Victor Smith, Robert Hannah, Avanelle Hannah, and Kenneth Smith.
Surviving Letty are her children Larry Calvetti of Shelocta and Lisa (Jim) Calvetti-Thompson of McIntyre; grandchildren Paul, Vincent and Kelsey Thompson and Travis and Austin Calvetti; four great grandchildren Gavin, Naomi Fye, Theodore, and Oliver; Letty's twin sister Betty Means of Reynoldsville, and brother Melvin (Sharon) Hannah of Cherry Tree.
Friends will be received by the family on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM, as well as on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 9 AM until parting prayers at 10 AM in the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. The CDA will recite the rosary at 3:30 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana with Rev. Fr. James B. Morley as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Letty's name to Catholic Charities Diocese of Greensburg, 711 East Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
