Levene Mae Mahaley

Mrs. Levene Mae McHargue Mahaley, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Mrs. Mahaley was born in Stanly County, on December 20, 1931, to the late Sylvester McHargue and Octa Mae Eagle McHargue. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she’ll be deeply missed by all who knew her. She worked for many years at the Merita Bread Thrift Store and was a very devoted member of Trinity Wesleyan, until moving to Mount Airy and attending Mount Airy Wesleyan. Left to cherish her memories are daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Loman and Rev. Richard Loman; sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Mahaley, Randy Mahaley and Melissa; grandchildren, Kurt Zimmerman, Chad Zimmerman, Ryan Mahaley, Tyler Mahaley, Alyssa Mahaley; Hazel, Silas, Emmy, Brody Mahaley, Clayton Zimmerman; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles McHargue, Floyd McHargue and Twilla; sister-in-law, Lyl McHargue; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mahaley was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Andrew Mahaley; sisters, Inez Hill, Margie Brown, infant Evelyn McHargue, infant Mary Kate McHargue; brother, Luke McHargue. A celebration of Mrs. Mahaley’s life will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Trading Ford Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Mullins officiating. A Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Trading Ford Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of the service.
