Mr. Leverette "Larry" Carter was the epitome of Courage, Integrity, and Ambition.
He was born on December 17, 1958, to the late Walter Allen and Lucille Carter, Sr.
Leverette attended Wayne Central during his early grade school years and later was transferred to Beat Four School where he excelled as a member of the Tigers Basketball Team. After school, he relocated to Albany, New York and lived there for over 15 years. In 1994, Larry decided to move back home to Waynesboro, Mississippi.
He initially worked at various chicken poultry plants before being employed by Hood Industries in 1997 where he remained until his retirement in June 2021. Leddie Boy had an undeniable passion and gift for the ability to care for animals; and while he probably had the biggest chicken coup in Wayne County he also cared for and was the owner of multiple dogs, cows, goats, and rabbits. In his leisure time, you would find him either hunting or fishing which were his favorite hobbies.
Leverette Carter was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Walter Allen and Mrs. Lucille Carter: Sisters, Pearlie Mae Stoke, Jeanette Hartfield, and Collie C. Thomas; Brothers, Johnny Lee Roy Mitchell; and grandson JeKaleb Jackson.
Mr. Leverette Carter departed this life on Friday, December 22, 2023.
