COX – Levern Cox, Jr., age 67 of Hoschton, Georgia, passed away with family by his side on Friday, November 14, 2025. Levern was born December 23, 1957 to Lillie

Mae Laster and James Albert Cox. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. Cox resided with his Son-in law and Daughter Timothy and Jennifer Cole, as well as his grandchildren Arianna and Timothy.

Levern was a devoted father and grandfather who took great joy in attending and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams the Philadelphia Eagles, San Antonio Spurs, college football,

and soccer. He had a passion for cooking and traveling, and he was a thrill seeker at heart. His adventurous spirit led him to skydiving, swimming with sharks at the Georgia Aquarium, and parasailing.

Levern served honorably in the United States Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class after 21 years of dedicated service. He earned numerous awards and decorations during his military career, including the Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal,Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He was also passionate about mentoring young soldiers, leaving a lasting impact on those he trained.

In addition to his military accomplishments, Levern was a New Jersey High School State wrestling champion and is honored in the Pemberton High School Hall of Fame. He also proudly represented the United States Army Rugby team, traveling to Costa Rica and Panama to compete.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Albert Cox. Levern is survived by his devoted mother, Lillie Mae (Thompson) Laster; his loving daughter, Jennifer and Son-in Law Timothy Cole; his son, Andrew Cox; his cherished sisters, Jacquline Cox, Latissue Cox, Linda Johnson, and Cynthia Cleveland; and his beloved grandchildren, Timothy Cole and Arianna Cox-Cole. While his physical presence will be missed here on earth his passion for life will live on forever.
