Levia P. DeFrancesco, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at the age of 98, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 17, 1927, in East Providence, Levia was a shining example of kindness and gentleness, traits that defined her both personally and professionally throughout her life. Levia was the cherished daughter of the late Michele and Domenica (Valerio) Dippolito, and the beloved wife of the late Pasquale DeFrancesco.
A dedicated worker for Cleveland Twist and Drill, Levia's meticulous nature and exceptional organizational skills contributed to her success in the workforce. Outside of her professional life, she cherished cooking for her family, often preparing meals that brought loved ones together. Her home was a sanctuary, known for its impeccable cleanliness and organization—a testament to her pride in her surroundings.
She is survived by her children: Edward DeFrancesco (Diana), Patricia Battista (Ronald), and Lisa Mollo (Joseph). Levia took immense pride in her family, especially in her five grandsons: John and Philip DeFrancesco, Christopher Grieco, Joseph and Zachary Mollo, as well as her great grandson Antonio Grieco. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Carlo, Mary, Eligio, and Michael Dippolito.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church, 1525 Church St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI 02910. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN, 38105 or to Continuum Hospice - Rhode Island, 1350 Division St., Suite 205, West Warwick, RI 02893.
Levia P. DeFrancesco will be dearly missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Briarcliffe Preserve for their compassion, and kindness when caring for Levia.
