Dr. Lewis George "Lew" Anthony

Dr. Lewis (Lew) George Anthony, 89, husband of Ellen Wagner Anthony, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Lexington, KY. He was born in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1936, to the late Lewis John and Helen Niehoff Anthony. Dr. Anthony was a retired cardiologist and a beloved, respected member of the Green Bay medical community.

Lew graduated Muhlenberg College and medical school at Jefferson Medical School. He served his country as a doctor in the Army, including a year in Vietnam, and achieved the rank of Major. He moved his family to Green Bay, WI in 1973 and was a founding member of Cardiology Associates of Green Bay.

Lew was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan, kayaking, downhill skiing, biking and swimming. He loved spending time in Door County and skiing out West with many visits to Big Sky.

Lew valued family above all else and loved spending time with his 5 grandchildren. He cared deeply about the environment, wildlife and animals and donated generously to many non-profit organizations and even went to walk dogs at the local animal shelter after he retired. His humility, generosity and kindness will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, surviving family include his daughters, Jill (Jack) Thomas, Lynn Miles, son, Jeffrey Anthony and grandchildren, Juliana, Valerie, Audrey, Alex and Grace.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Anthony and brother, Ronald Anthony.
