Lewis George Contis

Lewis George Contis, 75, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sally Ann (Law) Contis with whom he enjoyed 53 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on December 8, 1949, Lewis was the son of the late Cornelia Connie (Dedousis) and George E. Contis.
Lewis was educated in Lowell schools, graduated from Lowell High School, and attended Essex Community College. For many years, he worked as a Systems Administrator at Mitre in Bedford, NH, as well as Centra in Lexington, MA. Lewis enjoyed listening to music, was a car enthusiast, and a fan of sports, especially his Red Sox and the Miami Dolphins. A dedicated family-man, Lewis favorite place to vacation with them was Cape Cod. He was also fiercely loyal to his friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Lewis is survived by sisters-in-law, Judith E. Metaxopoulos of Nashua, NH, Paula Provencher and her husband Raymond of Haverhill, MA, and brother-in-law, Joseph Law of Haverhill. He was also the beloved uncle of Michael Metaxopoulos, Jr. and his wife Jamie of Milton, NH; uncle as well as Godfather of Alyssa Dillon and her husband Ryan of Nashua, NH; beloved Godfather of Peter Dedousis, Jr. of Nashua, NH; and uncle to Xeni, Micah, Viana, Ashlyn, Joseph, Michael, and Logan; as well as great-uncle of Aleni and Maia; and many cousins and friends.
Lewis was predeceased by his lifelong friend, Michael Metaxopoulos, Sr.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., LOWELL. Interment will follow in St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, NASHUA, NH.
