Liborio Alvizo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Central Chapel Funeral & Cremation Southwest on Jan. 6, 2026.
Liborio Alvizo, 91, longtime resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago, of Brighton Park neighborhood, dearly beloved husband of the late Antonia Alvizo; devoted father of Alberto Torres, Juan Alvizo, Veronica Garcia, Gerardo Alvizo, Guillermo Alvizo, Domingo Alvizo, Maria Lozano, Gabriela Alvizo, Bertha Alvizo, and the late Jesus Alvizo; loving grandfather of 27 and great grandfather of 35 and great-great grandfather of 1.
Liborio Alvizo, a devoted family man and a pillar of quiet strength, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, generosity, and a deep appreciation for life's simple joy Born with an unwavering work ethic, Liborio approached every task-big or small-with dedication and pride. Whether providing for his family or lending a hand to a neighbor, he carried himself with humility and purpose, earning the respect of all who knew him.
Outside of work, Liborio found happiness in the garden and the kitchen. His garden was his sanctuary, a place where he nurtured life with patience and care. He loved watching things grow, tending to each plant as if it were a reflection of his own steady spirit. In the kitchen, he shared that same love through cooking. His meals brought people together, filling the home with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable comfort of his presence.
Liborio will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet wisdom, and the way he made others feel valued simply by being himself. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
