Lien Carrick

Phan "Lien" Carrick, 75, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Mercy Hospital – Washington, with her loving family at her side.
Lien Carrick was born on December 25, 1949 in Chau-Doc, Vietnam, to the late Pham Can Loi and Nguyen Thi Ba. Lien grew up and attended school in Vietnam. It was in Vietnam that she met her future husband, Keith Carrick, while she was working for the United States NCO. The couple married on January 16, 1971, in Fremont, Missouri, and embarked on a life filled with love and companionship.
The Carrick's settled in Winona, Missouri, where they began their family, welcoming their children Mary and Bobby. As Keith worked for Paramount Apparel, the family made several moves across Missouri, before settling in Bourbon, Missouri in 1971.
Once making their home in Bourbon, Lien became an integral part of the company's fabric, contributing her talents in various roles. Her career at Paramount spanned an impressive 43 years, during which she served as an inspector, worked in packing, and retired from the screen printing department. Lien's dedication and work ethic were celebrated by her colleagues, and her retirement was a richly deserved milestone.
She and Keith embraced the freedom of the open road, exploring the natural wonders of the west coast, the redwood forests, the landscapes of Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Massachusetts, and the breath-taking views of Alaska on their dream cruise. Gardening was another joy for Lien; she took pride in cultivating a harvest of all sorts of produce including tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. She also enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor.
Lien enjoyed watching cooking shows and experimenting with new recipes. Her home was a haven of warmth and comfort, where she cherished the simple routine of starting each day with a warm cup of coffee alongside her best friend and husband, Keith. Lien's grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in spoiling them with thoughtful gifts and boundless affection.
Lien in survived by her husband of 54 years, Keith Carrick of Bourbon, Missouri; her children, Mary Everson of Elkhart, Indiana and Bobby Carrick and wife Ashleigh of Bourbon, Missouri; five grandchildren: Tyren Rogers, Simone Rogers, Hayden Hofstetter, Myiah Carrick, and Nolan Carrick; a great – grandchild, Alora Lien Hofstetter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother.
Celebration of Life will be held from 4 – 6 PM, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
