Lila Mae Brinkmann

Lila Mae Brinkmann, age 88 of Hope, left this earth to walk with our Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Capitol Region Medical Center MU Hospital in Jefferson City.

She was born on May 4, 1937, a daughter to the late William (Bill) and Pearl (Stock) Kiso in Hope.

Lila attended Hope school and furthered her education attending Linn High School.

On May 28, 1955, Lila was united in marriage to Darwin Henry Fritz Brinkmann. Married 53 years together Darwin left to walk with our Lord on December 8, 2008.

Lila worked outside the home at an early age before her marriage. However, after her marriage to Darwin she became a home maker and housewife and helped her husband run the farm. Lila drove tractors and helped with all things related to the farm. Being the wife of a farmer was not her only job; Lila raised four children born to this marriage and also was very crafty and clever with her hands. Lila loved to quilt, sew, embroidery, crochet, work puzzles and read along with tending to her flowers and garden. Lila was a member of the Hope school quilting club that met every Tuesday and made beautiful hand quilted blankets for the annual Homecoming the school held to raise money for the historical buildings upkeep. Her many years of sewing and quilting has provided many keepsake treasures in homes all over the state and possibly the country.

Lila was a member of and very strong in her faith at Oklahoma Church of Christ. Lila loved and trusted the Lord and knew where she was going when she passed. From her beautiful handmade treasures to her warm hugs, Lila had a wonderful heart that will be missed dearly by not only her family but all those around her in the community. Lila loved nothing more than to spend time with family and friends and making all those around her feel welcome in her home with baked treats and lemonade.

Lila is survived by; three sons, Rodney Brinkmann of Linn, Roger (Kanami) Brinkmann of Maryville, WA., James (Karen) Brinkmann of Morrison; one daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” (Murray) of Lakewood, OH.; one sister, Geraldine Branson of Linn; several grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, along with several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Lila was preceded in death by two brothers, Lyle Kiso, and Eugene Kiso: one sister at a young age, Verne Pearl Kiso and two nieces, Amy Kaye Kiso and Carol Jean Branson.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 25, 2025, at Oklahoma Church of Christ with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Gregor officiating. Interment will follow in the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery.

Donations can be made in honor of Lila Mae to the Oklahoma Church of Christ cemetery fund in care of her. It was very dear to her heart that the cemetery be taken care of where her and Darwin would rest.
