Lila Elaine Duginski, age 84, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 16, 1940 to the late Patrick B. and Mary A. (Donavan) Taylor in Tomahawk. She met Norman Stanley Duginski and the two were united in marriage on October 30, 1958 in Merrill. Sadly, he preceded her in death.
Lila was a homemaker, but also worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for 18 years, and owned and operated her own ceramic studio, called Hungry Hollows, and taught others about ceramics. She enjoyed volunteering at the Merrill Food Pantry and looked forward to the time she was able to spend with her grandkids. In her younger years, the family would go on camping trips, making pudgy pies and hot dogs, and playing cards and taking trips to the casino with Norman. Lila enjoyed living at Jenny Towers in Merrill and visiting with her friends there. She was a strong and independent woman that was very passionate about things important to her, and was fun-loving and easy-going. Lila will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Lila is survived by her sons: Dick (Arlene) Duginski, Joseph (Lori) Duginski and Patrick Duginski, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Norman, brothers: Junior Baker, Leroy (Mary Kay) Baker and Ronald Baker, and sisters: Mary Ellen Baker, Mildred Haskins, Betty Minenbacher, Barbara (Art) Hill and Pauline Ziegel.
Per Lila’s request, no services will be held. An inurnment will take place at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Merrill at a later date.
