Casey Duginski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Birnamwood on Dec. 2, 2025.
Casey Ann Duginski, 40, of Wausau, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Casey was born on April 2, 1985, in Wausau, the daughter of Ronald and Teresa Matsche.
On September 20, 2014, Casey was united in marriage to Matthew Duginski in Wausau.
Casey worked in accounting at Wausau Supply. Casey was a vibrant, one-of-a-kind spirit-funny, sassy, goofy, and full of life. She had a natural gift for making others laugh and bringing warmth into every room she entered. Her authenticity and genuineness drew people in, and she formed deep, meaningful bonds with every member of her family. Casey loved with her whole heart-fiercely, sweetly, and without hesitation. To her husband, she was a source of unwavering love and devotion, loving him "so hard and so sweetly."
Known as a firecracker with a touch of "nutty" charm, Casey embraced life with passion. She loved children and welcomed them effortlessly into her world. She enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, reading, and exploring estate sales. She adored flowers and plants-even if they didn't always survive under her care-and had a deep affection for wildlife and the animals she cared for.
Casey's generous spirit, humor, and unmistakable spark will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Casey is survived by her husband, Matt; her parents, Ron & Teresa; her brother, Curtis (Katrina) Matsche; her father-in-law, Joe Duginski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jennifer Krueger, Mollie (Nicholas) Krebsbach, and Joseph (fiancée Kaylee Sischo) Duginski; nieces and nephews, Keyanna, Finley, Kaylee, Annie, Jake, Lainie, Emmitt and Karlie; best friend, Brenda Bricko; and many other relatives and friends. Casey is also survived by her beloved dog, Gus and cat, Rocco.
Casey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Theresa Matsche and Norbert and MaryJane Szews; mother-in-law, Lori Duginski; and her dog, Windsor.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Maggie Westaby will officiate. Burial will be in St. Florian Catholic Cemetery, at a later date. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Marathon County Humane Society and Patriot K9's of Wisconsin.
