Lauri Klumpyan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Birnamwood on Oct. 27, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Lauri Ann Klumpyan, age 64, of Birnamwood, WI passed away surrounded by family on October 26, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI after a short, but mighty fight with Myeloma Cancer.
Lauri was born in Wausau, WI on August 25,1961, to Milton & Suzanne Schmidt of Birnamwood.
On April 13,1991, Lauri married Mark Klumpyan of Wausau. They had an amazing, 34 years of marriage filled with love.
Lauri was a 1979 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. She started her career at Banner Banks for 18 years before opening an in-home daycare to be home with her children. She later worked for the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District for 22 years providing lunches and creating a special bond with students and staff before retiring in June 2024. Lauri was very organized and detail-oriented, which made her a terrific Village Clerk for the Village of Birnamwood for many years until retiring earlier this year.
Lauri was a very dedicated mom and grandma, never missing a ball game, event, or chance to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, baker, and liked to always stay busy. She loved to read, work on puzzles, and other brain games. Family events and holidays were so important to Lauri, and she loved to go above and beyond with decorations, food, treats, gifts, and games. Her yearly 4th of July party for family and friends was one of the best. She also loved to be outside tending to her yard, garden, flowers, and beautiful seasonal decorations. The past few years, Lauri and Mark enjoyed putting many miles on their UTV "buggy" traveling the back roads of Wisconsin with great friends.
Lauri is survived by her husband Mark; daughter Kyra (Aaron) Gardner; son Colin (Nikki) Klumpyan, and beloved grandchildren Aiden, Brinley, and Liam White and Graham Gardner. She is also survived by her mother, Suzanne Schmidt; brothers Randy (Sandy) Schmidt and Todd (Kelly) Schmidt, and sister Judi (Andy) Resch, all of Birnamwood; in laws, Jackie (Gary) Pacholke, Paulette (John) Finke, Jim Klumpyan, and Leta Klumpyan. Lauri also had many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father Milton, sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Joel Creydt, sister-in-law Susan Schmidt, father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Henrietta Klumpyan and brother-in-law Tom Klumpyan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Birnamwood. Rev. Jennifer Sosinski will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers a donation can me made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Birnamwood.
