Paula M. Klumpyan, age 59, passed away peacefully following a courageous two year battle with brain cancer on March 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Her bravery, her will to fight, and her persistence is inspiring. She fought until the very last breath. In all of her trials, she never lost her courage, laughter, or sassiness. Those that know Paula, knew she loved St. Patrick's Day, which is not lost on us as the day of her passing.
She was born May 9th, 1964 in
Grafton, WI, a daughter to the late James Schmit and Ardell (Woltring) Schmit-O'Sullivan, and stepdaughter to William O'Sullivan.
Paula graduated from Grafton High School in 1982. She then went on to earn her degree in Police Science and Equine Management. Paula worked at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, as a prison guard, where she met her husband Terry.
In 1991, she married Terry Klumpyan in Armstrong, WI, and they had three daughters. In retirement, Paula and Terry moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri for six years, where she loved to fish and enjoy the lake sunset. Following Paula's diagnosis, they moved back home to be closer to her girls.
Paula was the life of the party- who lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, playing softball, eating turtle sundaes, and spending time with her daughters.
Survivors include her husband, Terry of Manitowoc; three daughters, Megan Klumpyan of Two Rivers, Makayla (Thomas) Malone of Cleveland, Morgan (Nicholas) Erickson of Maribel; sister, Carla (Dan) Schmit-Pinnow of West Bend; brother, Michael (Renee) Schmit of Grafton; step-father, William (Karen) O'Sullivan of Saukville; sisters-in-law, Linda Klumpyan of Fond du Lac, Lisa (Steven) Gilles of Armstrong, Barbara Klumpyan of Dundee; brothers-in-law, Brian (Tami) Klumpyan of Waupun, Darin Klumpyan of Fond du Lac; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Jodi; mother and father-in-law, Mathias Jr. and Helen Klumpyan; brother-in-law, Steve Klumpyan; and sister-in-law, Sue Ann Klumpyan.
Visitation will be held on Friday (March 22, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 2:00PM-5:00PM; with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM. Father Dave Pleier will officiate. Cremation will take place following services. Services will be live streamed and available to watch via www.facebook.com/suchonfuneral.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Paula's name.
