Lila London, 96, passed away on September 13. 2025. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 14, 1929 to the late Helen and Milton Smilowitz. She is predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Mathew London, as well as two sons, Michael and Frank London. She leaves behind her daughter Karen London, her husband David Blum, and her son, Andrew London.
Lila met her husband of seventy years while attending college at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Education. She embarked on a career in the educational field. Lila loved children and worked with children in varying positions.
Lila was a kind and loving person who lived her life on her own terms. She was intelligent and creative, always willing to learn something new. Lila impressed upon her children how important kindness, education, volunteerism and equality are in a world of differences.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at King David Memorial Park, 3594 Bristol Road in Bensalem, PA.
Contributions can be made in her memory to her synagogue, Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA
