Lilah J. Sarafin, born September 2, 1929, of Mary C. (Snelbaker) and Edwin R. Eberhart in North Industry, Ohio, died peacefully on October 11, 2024 at the Mill Vista Lodge in Wind Crest Retirement Community, Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Lilah was an alumnus of The Ohio State University, where she met Jim Sarafin. They graduated together in June 1952 and were married for 72 years. Survived by husband, James P.; four sons, James A. (Setsuko), Thomas P. (Nancy), Daniel E., and David R. (Suzanne); four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia and Sally (Lilah was 7th of 9 siblings); and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed their many trips to visit sons, including four RV drives to Alaska. Liked singing, dancing, playing cards (Euchre, Pinochle, Rummy), OSU Buckeyes, many Elderhostel trips, and two Mississippi Queen cruises on the Ohio River. Longtime member (58 years) of St. Brendan Catholic Church, Hilliard, Ohio. She was a member of the adult Resurrection Choir, the Bereavement Mass, and Senior Group. After children were raised, was employed at OSU as Editor of the Department of Engineering Magazine for 14 years. Interment will be October 28 at 11:30am at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wind Crest Catholic Community, 3235 Mill Vista Rd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129, or St. Brendan Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd, Hillard, OH 43026.
