Lillian G. "Mickey" (Marchand) Bemish
Beloved wife, mother, mémé, sister, aunt, and cousin;
Lillian G. "Mickey" (Marchand) Bemish, 86, of Pelham, New Hampshire, went home to God on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, MA.
She was the loving, devoted wife of Thomas R. Bemish of Pelham, NH for 56 years.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Achille N. and the late Lillian L. (St. Armand) Marchand. She grew up in Pelham and resided there for 83 years.
Prior to her retirement, Mickey worked as a warehouse manager for Tri-State Textiles in Hudson, NH and Butterworth & Co. in Dracut MA, for over 20 years.
Mickey was devoted to her family, providing them with constant love and support. She had a wide range of interests, including gardening, cooking for large groups, nature, animals, bonfires, farming, lawn tractor mowing, knitting, home building projects, puzzling, bingo and helping veterans as a Charter Member of the Pelham VFW Auxiliary Post 10722. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick Parish and actively participated in the bereavement group, known for her famous maple-walnut cake.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Rita L. McCabe and her husband Mark T. of Pelham, NH; two sons, Thomas R. Bemish Jr. and his spouse Virginia M. Marquis of Forest City, North Carolina, Edward J. Bemish and his fiancée Brittany G. Boutin of Nashua, NH; two granddaughters, Abigail E. Blais and her fiancé Christopher Young of Milford, NH, Kathryn R. Blais, residing in South Korea; a sister, Shirley C. Vaillancourt of Pelham, NH as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She was predeceased by nine of her siblings.
Friends can pay their respects at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME located at 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM, NH on Monday February 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. PARTICK CHURCH in PELHAM, NH at 10:00 A.M. followed by burial at the Gibson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to St. Patrick Church at https://stpatricks-pelham.com under "Electronic Giving". Arrangements by Funeral Director James F. One thing that will be sorely missed is Lillian's knack for creating Mickey-isms. These were little sayings and pronunciations that were uniquely her own. It's with fondness that we'll always remember her.
