Lillian Guillemette

Lillian Guillemette, 96, of Springvale, left this earth peacefully on Monday March 27, 2023. She was born in South Portland on June 15, 1926, a daughter of Edmund and Celeste (Doiron) Legere. Lillian attended schools in South Portland and Sanford.
On October 25, 1947 she married the love of her life, Jean Paul Guillemette in Sanford. She remained a lifelong communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish and was a devout Catholic. Lillian worked many years at Universal Shoe in Sanford.
She enjoyed her time at the cottage on Wilson Lake with her husband, relatives and friends. Lillian took several fishing trips with her husband up north. She also loved cooking for enjoyment and was an awesome hostess. In earlier days Lillian and Paul square danced, which gave them the opportunity to dance on the beautiful island of Maui.
A relaxing pastime was walking the dogs on the trails of her property and watching the geese swim in the pond. She also had a love for music and playing guitar.
She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Jean Paul Guillemette, seven sisters, Alma Whiting, Marie Towne, Eva Bouffard, Anna Willey, Helen Valliere, Alice Legere, Christine L'Heureux and two brothers, Edmund Legere and Fredrick Legere.
She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 4th at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery later this spring.
In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made in her memory to Hospice Help Foundation, 400 Little Harbor Road, #1105, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
