Lillian Yvonne Rutledge Hebert passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at her residence in Kountze, Texas.
Lillian (a.k.a., Granny & Aunt Tede) was born on April 30, 1936, in Beaumont, Texas, to Madelyn and Ralph Rutledge. Lillian married Clarence Hebert on March 31, 1954. They were blessed with sixty-two years together.
In the 87 years God gave her, Lillian was many things to many people. She was a housewife and faithful companion to Clarence who was waiting for her on her arrival in heaven. She was a mom to David and Myra (a.k.a., Sissie). One of her greatest joys was her grand and great-grandchildren. She lit up when she saw them and loved spoiling them every chance she got.
Lillian was the Candy Lady to kids, young and old, at her church, First Baptist of Loeb;
Tede to family; Granny to extended friends and family across the country;
the sweet little lady who baked and brought cookies to McDonalds, Brookshire Brothers, the bank, the auto shop, doctor offices, and literally every place she frequented; and the friend who planned and loved to meet with her special coffee "family" as often as she could.
There really isn't space and time to begin to celebrate the fullness of the life God gave Lillian. By His grace, she made every minute of her life count. As she enjoys the wonders of heaven made possible by her Savior, Lillian will be greatly missed. Hopefully those of us who have been privileged to know her will be encouraged by her life and be living legacies of her love and influence.
Lillian is survived by her son, David Kerr Hebert and wife, Alana; daughter, Myra Lynn Hebert Fenison and husband, Darvie; grandchildren, Dustin Fenison and wife, Danielle, of Kentucky; Devin Fenison Waddle and husband, Brandon of Alaska; Eric Reeves and wife, Annie, of Texas; and Aspen Stampley and husband, Brian, of Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hebert; her parents; and four siblings.
A gathering of Lillian's family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze. Her son-in-law, Darvie Fenison, will officiate with Brother Travis Hood assisting.
A special thanks to the caregivers and doctors who have made such a difference these last few months: Hospice Plus, her doctors and their staff, and so many who went above and beyond to be a blessing and meet every possible need.
