The Obituary
On Sunday, August 4, 2024, Lillian Ray Muckerson, known as "Granny," received her wings to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her devoted family during her transition.

Lillian was preceded in death by eight siblings: John Ray, Juanita Ray, Drucilla Ray, Sallie Jones, Doshie Ruff, Mary Lee Fuller, Elizabeth Wade and Carrie Rouse.
Granny was a pioneer of her era. A virtuous woman who captured the heart of Mr. Jesse Muckerson.
They were married over forty years until the Lord called him home in January of 1980. Their union together created a family of four children, Rufus Lee Muckerson, Millen, GA, Henry Lee Muckerson, Ben Harbor, MI, Ronald Lee Muckerson and Jeanette Muckerson-Jones, both of Millen, GA, but preceded her in death, alone with one loving granddaughter, Faye Mitchell and niece, Barbara Ann Lewis, also a resident of Millen, GA.
Being a true Solder, Granny knew how to master her challenges to take care of her family. She worked as an aide at Jenkins County Memorial Hospital over forty years until her retirement. She was an active member of the local Jolly 12 Club of Millen, Ga. At a young age she dedicated her life to Christ and later became the Church Mother of Morrison Grove Missionary Baptist Church until her health started to decline.
Lillian's legacy will continue with her following survivors of two sons: Rufus Lee (Dorothy) Muckerson and Henry Lee Muckerson, 1 grandson who she raised as a son, Robert Lee Muckerson, nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, fourteen great, great, grandchildren, and a host of wonderful nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
With her unwavering love, Lillian became a Pillar of the community who touched so many lives. She raised many relatives as her own, nurtured the sick and shut-in, and fed hundreds with a loving heart, At the Blessed Age of 102 years old, Lillian lifelong commitment to living (without murmuring or complaining) sets the example for all, Lillian Ray Muckerson is and always will be "A Lily of the Valley!"
