Obituary of Lillian Sodano
Lillian Sodano, a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 28, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was 94.
Lillian is survived by her devoted daughter, Patti Gibbons and her husband Jerry of Madison; two grandsons, Jerry Gibbons & Patrick Gibbons and his wife Maria; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Donovan; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pasquale "Pat" Sodano in 2002; one brother, Ralph Moore; and one sister, Joan Fox.
Lillian was born in Newark, NJ to the late Ralph and Lillian Moore. She was raised in Morris County with her brother and sister before settling in Madison after marrying her husband Pat.
Lillian was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and family was everything to her. She truly had a heart of gold and selflessly took care of others for her entire life.
Before retiring, Lillian proudly worked at Woolworth's in Madison where she made countless friends in the 30 years that she worked there. She was also a 70 year parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church.
Lillian lived a Iong and beautiful life and will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation for Lillian held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Those who are unable to attend in person may attend the Mass virtually by visiting and following instructions for live-stream Mass viewing.
Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison.
