NEW HAVEN, NY - Lillian B. Taber, 92, of New Haven, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was surrounded by her five caregivers. Born in Cato, NY on December 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Ford) Cunningham. She married Edsel F. Taber on December 26, 1948. Together they settled in New Haven, where they owned a farm and raised their family. Lillian worked as a Teaching Assistant for Oswego County BOCES for 19 years, retiring in 1995. Prior to working at BOCES, Lillian was a proud housewife and mother. She enjoyed caring for her family, bird watching and tending to her gardens and yard. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fulton, NY.
Lillian is survived by a son, Edward (Jan) Taber; four daughters, Joan (Les) Cornell, Cheryl Truax, Melody Tompkins, Gloria (Jeffrey) Yerdon; one brother, Frank Cunningham; sixteen grandchildren, Terri (Kevin) Douglas, William (Pam) Calderone, Khristie (Shane) Phillips, Robert (Jessica) Calderone, Candice (Frank) Clavelli, Christine (Luke) Kilpatrick, Lyle Burnett, Justin (Marissa) Taber, Stanton Taber, Billie Jo Thompson, Bobbie Jo Hackett, Bettie Jo Cronk, Barbie Jo (Nathan) Grey, Christopher (Jordan) Yerdon, Jessica Yerdon, Jerica Yerdon; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and another arriving soon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Edsel, in 2019; a daughter, Carol Woolson in 2005; one brother, David Cunningham; two grandchildren, James Burnett and Israel Vosseller; a great-grandchild, Steven Payne; as well as her parents.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. in Mexico, NY. She will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at North Scriba Union Cemetery at 12 p.m., where graveside services will be held.
