Lillian Marie Vrana, 91, of El Campo, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born June 6, 1934, in Louise, TX, to the late Peter Marek Sr. and Pauline Hilscher Marek. She and her late husband Frank L Vrana were the retired owners of Vrana's Drive Inn. She was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church until she moved to Houston to be closer to family in 2019, where she attended St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church. She was a member of the KJZT for 75 years. Lillian was a wonderful mother, serving as her son's Cub Scout Pack leader and being a constant support throughout his life. She cherished being a mother but found pure joy in being a grandmother. Mee-maw, as she was affectionately called by her three grandchildren, was the best grandmother you could have. Her grandchildren could not wait to spend a weekend with Mee-maw getting spoiled playing kickball, board games, swimming and eating pizza at Mr. Gatti's. She was the queen of kickball well into her 70's. Whether it was a sporting event or a musical, Mee-maw was there cheering her grandchildren on. Lillian loved family. She lived for the weekend when she would spend hours with her brothers and sisters and their spouses' playing dominos, cards and just enjoying their company. She is survived by her son, Jeff Vrana, and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey and Justin; sister, Mildred Chovanec & brother, Marvin Marek and wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Lillian Marek, Evelyn Marek, and Stella Marek; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank L Vrana; brothers Felix Marek, Albert Marek, Frank Marek, Vlad Marek and wife Bernice, Pete Marek, and Robert Marek; sisters Rosie Valigura and husband Ed and Josephine Dornak and husband Edwin; brothers-in-law, Victor Chovanec, Jerome Vrana, George Vrana and Henry Vrana and wife Genevieve; sister-in-law Rose Mary Vrana; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., rosary at 1:30 and funeral Mass at 2:00 at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church in El Campo. Interment will follow at St. Procopius Catholic Cemetery in Louise under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Darrel Chovanec, Mark Chovenac, Scott Marek, Greg Strelec, Scott Strelec and Justin Vrana. Memorials: St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School, 302 W. Church Street, El Campo, TX 77437.
