Willie Vrana Obituary

Willie was a proud member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he found fellowship and support over the years. He was also actively involved with the Jourdanton Volunteer Fire Department, exemplifying his commitment to serving his community, and his passion for cattle ranching led him to be a member of both the Texas Independent Cattlemen's Association and the Atascosa Cattle Raisers Association, where he built lasting friendships and shared his love for the land. As an alumnus of Texas A&I University, Willie cherished the many experiences that shaped him into the person he became.
Willie is survived by his daughters, Amy Melinda Vrana Mathews (Todd Mathews), Ellen Gae Vrana (Andrew Price) and Jodi Parr (Eric Parr); sons, William Morgan Vrana (Mary Lee Scroggins Vrana) and Randy Lee Watt (Ada Henry Watt); granchildren, Donavan Ray Cagle (Cecilia Colon Cagle), Devan Cagle, and Benita Vrana Bader (Corey Bader), William Jared Jones, Jeffery Jones and Jacob Jones, Justin Olle, Beau Olle (Bonnie Olle), and Bailey Parr, Jessica Marie Vrana McFadden (Marshall Lynn McFadden) and Jennifer Claire Vrana, and Chase H. Watt (Justine Watt); great-grandchildren, Caiden Bader and Blaire Bader, Makenzie Olle, Paisley Olle and Hunter Olle, Sage Lynn McFadden, and Steelie Joe Watt and Cuatro Mac Watt; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ann Vrana; cousin, Laura Nell Vrana; and special friend, Glenda Gaenzel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Adolph Vrana and Lillie Lena Baring Vrana; wife, Judy Louise Vrana; and brother, Donald Lee Vrana.
The family would also like to express their thanks to all Willie's wonderful caretakers.
All services for Willie Vrana will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, starting with a visitation on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and a funeral service, Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10:00. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the asks that donations be made to St. John Lutheran Cemetery - 1702 Hwy 97 E, Jourdanton, Texas 78026 or Atascosa Cattleman's Association - PO Box 379, Leming, Texas 78050.
Those with the honor of being pallbearers: Glen Newman, Johnny Schrutka, Bobby Schorsch, Greg Kubacak, William Morgan Vrana and Randy L. Watt, and the honor of being honorary pallbearers: Gary Miller, Frank Dodson, Johnny Popp and Gary Hierholzer.
