Lillie Viola Astorga (Grandma GiGi), 71 of McIntosh NM was called home on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025. Viola was born on May 18th, 1954, in Albuquerque NM to Antonio and Cipriana Chavez. She resided in Mcintosh, NM where she built and raised her family. A proud wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, she will be remembered by her caring and loving heart, her energetic personality, contagious laughter, never ending jokes and being goofy. She was everyone’s grandma. Everyone was welcomed in her home where she always had a meal prepared to keep their bellies full. Viola was not only loved by all her family and friends, but by the community. She was hardworking and never gave up. Viola was also a strong believer & women of faith. She will be forever missed and loved.
Viola was proceeded in death by her parents, Her sisters; Marcy, Romie, Pauline, Angie, Sandy & Lorraine. Her brother, Anthony & Grandsons; Domonic Hernandez and Tony Ray Astorga.
She is survived by her husband Antelmo. Her sons; Carmen and children Monica (Lalo), Daniel (Frances) & Melanie (Antonio); Ramiro (Lupe) and children Jesus “AJ” (Ashlyn), Vanessa (Dominic) & Kianna (Dante); David (Victoria) and children Nathaniel (Cystal), Uriah (Joseph), Nazareth, Isidro (Mikaela), Nazir & Uzariah; Jose Astorga (Cristella) and children Cendy (Juan) & Daisy; Jesus “Chuy” Astorga and children Jesus Jr, Yadhira & Yalexa; Otilla Hernandez (Jorge) and Children Issac & Victoria and 22 Great-[]grandchildren; Siblings- Rosie (Leo), Teresa, Anita & Robert (Rhonda) along with many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers- Jesus “AJ”, Nathaniel, Daniel, Nazareth, Isidro & Nazir Astorga.
Services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. Rosary at 11am with mass to follow.
Burial at Estancia Cemetery, Estancia NM
Reception after burial at Moriarty Lions Club.
