Reyes Larrañaga Perea, age 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Reyes was born at her home at Red Hills Ranch, near Encino, NM. She was known for always placing her immediate and extended family as a priority, her strong Catholic faith, an employee for Moriarty Schools, and a very active community member and Catholic parishioner within the Estancia Valley.
She is survived by her husband, Jake; her daughter, Judith; her son, Joseph and wife Christina; her grandchildren, Ernesto and wife Jessica, Robert, John Michael, ReyAnn, Jacob, Noah and Alina. She is also survived by her sisters, Viola Marez, MaryEllen Villanueva and husband Henry, Trinnie Chilton and husband Randy, Angie Lopez and husband Max; her brothers, Alfred Larrañaga and wife Corrine, Leo Larrañaga and wife Viola, Victor Larrañaga and wife Stella, Ernest Archibeque and wife Maggie; sister-in-law, Bernice Smith, Theresa Garcia, Toni Jaramillo and husband Felipe, Yvonne Duran, Christine Perea, Ann Larrañaga, Charletta Larrañaga; brother-in-law, Gilbert Perea, Louis Perea. She also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family. Reyes was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leocadio and Aurelia Larrañaga; mother-in-law Flora Perea Vigil and husbands Ernesto Perea and Seferino Vigil; son ‘EJ’; sister, Josie Thomas and husband Al; brothers, Bennie Larrañaga and wife Nora, Lorenzo Larrañaga, Percy Larrañaga; brothers-in-law Leandro Marez, Frank Duran, Gerald Smith, Leo Garcia, Sammy Perea, Dennis Perea; sister-in-law, Josefine Perea; and nieces, Cathleen Vigil, Charleen Carr, and Aurelina Lopez.
A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 17, 2025, 7:00 p.m., at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 85 NM-344, Edgewood, NM 87015. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 18, 2025, 9:00 a.m., Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Meal reception to immediately follow at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Hall. Interment will follow the reception at the Larrañaga Ranch Cemetery, Red Hills, NM.
