Lillie Odell Langhorne, born on January 30, 1951, peacefully passed away on May 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who embodied warmth and kindness throughout her life.

Lillie was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Langhorne and Sophie Langhorne. She shared her life with her lifelong partner, Calvin Wyche, who stood by her side through all circumstances, nurturing their bond until the very end. Lillie was the proud mother of Freda Elam. She was delighted in the company of her granddaughter, Shadikqua Burwell, and was overjoyed as a great-grandmother to Nyla Hunte. Each generation of her family held a special place in her heart, and she found strength and inspiration in their love.

Her sisters, Patricia Langhorne-Sledge (Charles) and Brenda Langhorne, mourns the loss of their dear sibling. Together, they created countless memories that will be cherished for years to come. Lillie's life was enriched by her lifetime devoted friends, Shirl Lawson and Barbara (BJ) Walker, who were there through life's ups and downs, creating bonds that felt more like family. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit within them.

Lillie’s heart knew no bounds as she touched the lives of so many around her. Her laughter, wisdom, and compassion nurtured those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service to honor Lillie Odell Langhorne will be held on May 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home, located at 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her impactful life.
