Lilly Olivia Blakes Perkins passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 85. She was a native of Woodville, MS and a resident of Westwego, LA. She attended Wilkinson High School in Woodville. Lilly was employed for over 30 years as a Nurse’s Assistant and Unit Representative at Ochsner Hospital on Jefferson Highway, before retiring in 2008. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board for approximately 45 years, before her health began to decline. Beloved mother of Evangelist Dr. Donald (Marie) Perkins, Elder Ronald (Patricia) Perkins, Patricia Perkins Craft, Reverend Dr. Darrow (Teresa) Perkins, Jr., and Gwendolyn Perkins-Williams. Daughter of the late Deacon George and Deaconess Elizabeth Turner Blakes. Sister of Georgetta White, L. C. (Gwen) Blakes, and the late Edward Blakes, Sr., Leroy Blakes, and Ora Lee Blakes Bolds. Also cherishing her memories are 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 1 goddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of the Golden Agers are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 1419 4th St., Westwego, LA on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00am. Pastor Woodrow Hayden officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until the service time. Interment: St. John Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery #1 Woodville, MS.
