Lily Castro

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lily Leticia Valdez Castro, affectionately known to many as Nanay, Mama, Lola, Manang Lily, and Neng. Lily was born on April 10, 1936, in Mapalacsiao San Miguel Tarlac Tarlac and passed away on June 25, 2025. A sparkling gem of her family, Lily's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, the strength of family, and a faith that carried her through life's many challenges and joys.
The heart of Lily was her family, and she was the heart of her family. She was the proud mother of Rita, Jackie, Orontes, and Enree, and the beloved mother-in-law of Julio Madriz and Ulysses Aguilar. She was also the cherished grandmother of Aliana, Jureemae, and Jureeanne, and the doting great-grandmother of Osiris. Lily was preceded in death by her sons Roque Jr, Fortunato, and Rizal Castro, her granddaughter Ma. Aguilar, her son-in-law Julio Agbuya, her parents Juanito Valdez and Isabel Simon, and her siblings Dioscoro and Marilou Repala. Although she now rests in the arms of the Lord, her love and legacy continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Lily was an effervescent soul who loved life and brought joy to those around her. A fierce protector of her children, she also possessed a sweetness and kindness that she shared generously with all she encountered. As a devout Catholic, she found solace and strength in her faith. In her words and actions, she embodied the verse from 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love." She was passionate about her hobbies, particularly her love for casinos. She was a proud member of the Couples for Christ community, and her involvement in this fellowship was a testament to her beliefs and the strength of her faith.
