Linda Amelia Basler, age 65, of Marceline, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 16, 1960, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of David P. Vanlue and Mary A. (Epperson) Williams. Linda was raised in north Missouri and graduated from Atlanta C-3 High School. In her childhood, she attended the Elmer Assembly of God Church where she was baptized in the river.

Linda worked for Walsworth Publishing for 46 years as a Lead Case Maker Operator. She was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Marceline, where she enjoyed spending time with friends and playing games. Linda also loved playing Bingo, raising puppies, watching NASCAR, going to car shows, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Fitzpatrick-Hall and husband Bashaun of Chillicothe, MO; five grandchildren, Danielle Basler of Marceline, MO, Channing Fitzpatrick of Chillicothe, MO, Isabelle Fitzpatrick of Springfield, MO, Brennen Fitzpatrick of Chillicothe, MO, and Elijah Hall of Chillicothe, MO; one great-grandchild on the way; her mother, Mary Williams of Macon, MO; siblings, Debra (Edward) Peavler of Elmer, MO, Paul (Beth) Vanlue of Macon, MO, Michael Johnson, Bryan (Lori) Gauntt, Brian (Cathy) Kirkpatrick, Grecca Gonzalez, and Kate Wirth; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, David P. Vanlue; her longtime companion, Howard Atwell; her sister, Sharon Vanlue; and her grandparents, Elizabeth and Herbert Epperson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:30 pm at the Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, MO. Burial will follow in the Elmer Cemetery in Elmer, MO. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12 pm until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the Linn County Humane Society.
