Linda Sue Beams, 83, of McAlester, passed away Wednesday, July 23, in McAlester, with her family at her side. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday, July 29, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randal Beams, Royce Beams, Kyle Sensibaugh, Jesse Lalli, Zane Owens, Cameron Sensibaugh, and Dillon Haliburton. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Coxsey, Larry Coxsey, Phillip Coxsey, Tommy Nash, Jason Taylor, Ryan Owens, Mark Parker, and Rocky Lewis. Linda Beams was born on Jan. 26, 1942 in McAlester to Walter "Roy" Coxsey and Peggy J. (Grose) Coxsey. She grew up in McAlester and attended William Gay Elementary School, McAlester Junior High, and then McAlester High School through her graduation. Linda married Richard Beams on Sept. 3, 1958 in Red Oak, and spent the next 55 years together in McAlester, Bache and Blanco. Her children were foremost in her life and she spent lots of time watching them in all their activities of rodeo, play days, basketball, football, and livestock shows. She continued that same attention to the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Linda was a member of the original Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, now the First United Methodist Church of McAlester. She served as treasurer of her Fellowship Sunday School Class for several years, and was also a member of the Wesley Class. The family would like to offer their appreciation to all the caregivers at New Hope Care Center and Heartland Hospice. Linda is survived by her children, Richard and Deanna Beams, Randal and Rhonda Beams, Marietta and James Sensibaugh, and Dawna and Daniel Lalli; grandchildren, Reina and Ryan Owens, Brooke Beams and Nathan, Shane Martin, Randal and Barbara Beams, Royce and Taylor Beams, Racheal Beams, Kyle and Terri Sensibaugh, Rejeina and Andy Haliburton, Jesse Lalli and Kelina, Priscilla and Adam Hayes, Angie Foris, and Bruce Watkins; great grandchildren, Zane and Cruz Owens, Cora Young, Rhys Beams, Colt Beams, Angela, Michael, Lauren and Bradley Coplen, Cameron, Bella and Lane Sensibaugh, Dillon and Sarah Haliburton, Hannah Haliburton, Drake and Asa Lalli, RJ O'Kelly, Ayden, Keeley and Suttyn Hayes; and her great great grandchildren, Hadley, Brayle, and Zoey; her siblings, Donnie and Robin Dixon, and Sandy and Jimmy Gaylor; a special niece, Saundra Watkins and Bobby; and special friends, Terri and Tommy Stamper. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 2014; her parents; siblings, David and Jerri Coxsey, Jimmy and Phyllis Coxsey, Mike Coxsey, Marcella Coxsey and Cynthia Patty; and a great grandson, Richard Colbert Beams.
