Linda Caroline Burwell passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the age of 86 after a long illness.
Linda was born on November 16, 1937 in Portland, Maine to Linda DelMonte and Peter Anania and later adopted by Anthony and Luella Ferlito. She was the youngest of 7 children. She moved to Brownsville, Texas as a teenager where she graduated High School in 1956. She moved to Corpus Christi with her mother (Luella May Ferlito)and father (Anthony Ferlito) where she met and married our father, William Marvin Burwell on September 16, 1961.
They moved to their house in Annaville in 1966 and were charter members of Jackson Wood Presbyterian Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for Burwell’s Discount Pharmacy until our father retired in 1992. Linda enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling with our father and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the Holidays when the entire family would get together to enjoy great food, watch Hallmark movies and talk fondly about family history.
Linda was preceded in death by her birth mother, Linda DelMonte and her father Peter Anania. She is survived by her sister, Vivian Parker, daughter Mary Ahrens (Bill Ahrens), son Robert Burwell (Laura Burwell), grandsons Travis Ahrens (Michelle Ahrens), Jacob Barnett, Gavin Burwell, and granddaughter, Emilee Ahrens.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5-8 PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 7, at 1 PM at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church. Graveside will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery.
